Arrive in Marentha
The Tyrangel Royal Marines
have moved into parts of Marentha to stop a possible slaughtering of Marentha
citizens by a host of Orc and Undead horde. The Royal Marines have been active
in the past few weeks tracking the appearance of undead and Orc across the Duchy
of Tyrangel. What has disturbed Captain Douglas Shuyler most though is that
while these monstrous Orcs and Undead Abominations appeared they were moving
toward the Barony of Marentha. The Captain, just recently Transferred from
Avendale which sits north of Elysia, knows that all eyes are upon him -
Military, Noble, and Adventurer - and that many will work toward his failure
rather than his success.
Baroness Amaris and her
Court have spent their time collaborating with Military leaders for the last
week and while there are a few skirmishes here and there, the military and the
adventuring groups helping the Duchy seem to have kept the deaths to a minimum.
Lizard Men, Orcs and
Undead attack Marentha in Force
The Tyrangel Royal Marines have issued forth
some 10 different requests of the Nobles to help collaborate a series of attacks
on October 10 & October 11 upon the Orcs in an effort to remove them form
Tyrangel and/or Marentha specifically.
Baroness Amaris of Marentha was alerted September 19, 609 ER that she had
several serious problems on her hands.
1) There
was a small army of Orcs within her borders and they were now attacking the
supply caravans destroying and stealing what they could. The Tyrangel Royal
Marines have been tracking the Orcs since the start of the month when commoners
began reporting the movements of small bands of Orcs within each of the
Baronies. Turns out that small number is now 1,500 to 2,000 strong.
Until recently, there have been relatively few clashes between the Orcs and our
patrols as the Orcs seemed to be going somewhere. It didn't take long to realize
they were heading to Marentha but they had been relatively non-hostile so the
Tyrangel Royal Marines continued to track them. Within the last 2 weeks however,
we have had an increase in Orc attacks across the Barony of Marentha, most
notably against anyone who enters into the 8 areas where the Orcs are camped.
While we have had several deaths during the attacks, with no permanent deaths.

At the same time they began attacking
across the Barony, perhaps trying to
replenish food and resources consumed, lost or destroyed in the last month.
Scouts reported back the
locations of 8 different Orc encampments in 8 different estates within Marentha.
Each War Party has more than 250 Orcs each and what seems to be a dozen human
warriors and magicians though the scouts could not get that close.
2) The Lizard Men have
surfaced and began attacking the humanoid villages throughout all of the
baronies of Tyrangel, the lizard men began with a series of attacks upon the
villages of Wild Elves, Hoblings, Dark Elves and Humans. These attacks were
repelled by the Nobles and Adventurers at the Noble Gathering of September 609ER
with no deaths from any of the villages.
The Lizard Men were attacking
Dark Elf villages, Hobling Villages and Wild Elf Villages. The village asked the
adventurers for help by sending in a messenger with a gate stone and a message.
"The village can only hold off the Lizard Men for 10 minutes." Turns out they
are looking for their stolen Heirlooms stolen by a rather large Army of Orc's
being led by a band of Robed Magicians.
3) An Undead Horde is moving
through the other Baronies toward Marentha. Captain Douglas Shuyler reports that
there are nearly 500 greater undead roaming the Duchy and raising armies form
Graveyards. Starting around
September 5th, the Duchy has been overrun by undead. "It's as if there is a
group of necromancers casting from a hefty number of Necromantic Scrolls. These
greater undead raise zombies.
We have seen large numbers of
Skeletons, Wraiths, Mummy's and Death
Knights. There have been mostly Zombies with 1 greater undead leading the pack.
Our patrols dispatch those we come against but we are quickly becoming
overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of zombies.
